Turkmenistan is a country in which freedom of movement and freedom of religion are restricted due to a long period of dictatorship after independence. After the death of the previous dictator and the establishment of a new leader, it became freer than before, but not much improved. Most of the population is Muslim, and Christians are oppressed. Most Christian foreigners were expelled, and Turkmenistan ministers were also expelled, fined or imprisoned. Despite this persecution, the church is becoming one and the Christian population is gradually increasing. People of Turkmenistan are living scattered in many neighboring countries such as Russia, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and they have the opportunity to encounter the Gospel through the churches established in these countries.

Lord, we pray for Turkmenistan, where freedom is limited. Please raise up politicians who love the country and people so that the people can live without being oppressed. Thank you for allowing the gospel to be preached here even in the face of oppression against the church. Please protect the Turkmenistan saints and soften the oppression of the government so that good influence through the church can flow to this land. Pray that Turkmenistan people living in neighboring countries will believe in Jesus and that they also bring the light of the Gospel to their homeland. So let this country located between Asia and the Middle East become a country that spreads the gospel to all nations.
